Teamwork is the key to "Artistry in Gold"

Dutch started in a wholesale trade shop after graduating from high school in 1972, in Spokane, Washington. After mastering the basics, he moved on the another local trade shop and fine tuned his goldsmith skills to include all forms of diamond and gemstone setting. In order to complete his training, one final move was made. Custom design, wax carving and casting along with extensive customer service and management skills rounded out his career training.

All his training came from the best in the Spokane area and he will always be grateful to those who helped him achieve his goal of opening "Artistry in Gold". He is admired by many in his field and has a loyal customer following. If it can be carved, set, soldered or repaired, Dutch is the man to do it.

Laurie worked in the field of finance and customer service since 1976. In 1992, she had an opportunity to work with a Spokane area team of talented jewelry designers and took on the challenge of custom jewelry design and sales. That was only the beginning. Being involved in every aspect of running an independent retail store has made it possible for her to master the skills needed to operate "Artistry in Gold". She knows her customers and is always willing to learn what it takes to meet their needs.

Dutch and Laurie met in 1971 and were married in 1973. They have been working side by side in the jewelry industry since 1992. Daughter Leah works full time with her parents. Daughter Rachael and new son-in-law Carl, along with son Robbie and grand daughter Lexi, complete their family. Spending time as a family takes the highest priority. Teamwork is the key to a strong family.
